    Description

Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Horyuji Temple in Nara Prefecture" from "The Album of Famous Views in Japan" by Tokuriki Tomikichiro (1902-2000) published by Uchida after World War II. The title is in black ink at the top of the left pillar and the artist's signature and Uchida seal is at the bottom of the left pillar.  The paper measures about 11 1/4" x 16" (image size: 10 1/4" x 15"). Very good clean overall condition with full margins.  The print was stored in the original folder (the front of which was cut like a mat window).  It was not previously framed, so there is no tape on the back and it is not backed or laid down. The back of the original folder was not archival, so there is some toning on the back.  The print is slightly discolored where the image was not covered by the folder and a faint line is evident at the right and bottom edges of the image.
