Description

Japanese sterling 950 silver Shamisen salt & pepper shakers c.1930. (three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument derived from the Chinese instrument sanxian).
Dimensions:  Approximately 4 3/8 inches in length and 1 inch at widest point.  The pair weigh approximately 1.10 ozs Troy.
Each piece is marked "Sterling 950" on the reverse.
The back of the drum body has a sliding plate that allows access to the for easy refilling, dispensing is by the pierced holes on the sides of the body.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
In great pre-owned vintage condition.
