    Description

JAPANESE 950 SILVER SIPPER STRAW SPOONS
Set of 6 Japanese sipper straw spoons in the original box. They are 9 "
long and made to resemble bamboo.  Each straw has an individual hanging charm ( house-buddha, pagoda, shell, fan and boat). The spoon bowls are 1 " in diameter and have an  engraved flower. TROY WEIGHT IS 1.8 OZ. for all. Each spoon is marked STERLING 950 on the back. They are in the original textured gray faux leather hinged box with the original Okubo Brothers label and marked on the inside MADE IN JAPAN.
The Japanese made less silver than the Chinese usually higher in purity.  The work STERLING usually denotes 925/1000 but these spoons are 950/1000.
The word sterling probably was used for the non asian market purposes as it is recognizable. The spoons are in excellent pre owned condition with no damage and hand polished only to remove tarnish.
