    Description

    Up for your consideration an antique silver box made in India in the late part of the 19th century. The shape is lovely in a casket form. This piece was most likely sold to tourist during the occupation of India by England. This are not super rare, but this example with the stones, it was most likely sold to a upper middle class person. There are some stones missing, but it seems to be garnets, and topaz. The 2 pieces on the outside have a blue center more resembling a sapphire. But stones are not tested. The entire box is made of parts and not completely soldered together, it seems the base holds the sides with tiny nails on the side. Its is well made and weighs about 225 grams. It measures 6 1/2 inches long, 2 7/8 inches wide and 1 7/8 inches tall. Please zoom at the pictures for better understand of this lovely box.
