Up for auction is one absolutely stunning hand crafted & signed Asahi Shoten tea set.  This set is is an extremely fine and rare circa 1920 Japanese sterling silver streaming bamboo on hammered background se from the highly regarded Japanese firm of Asahi Shoten.  The weight of the bowl, lid, tray and two tongs is slightly over 15 ounces.
Asahi Shoten was f
ounded in the late Meiji period and is known for creatively designed and beautifully finished silver. Hand crafted in an array of forms.   Beautifully hand engraved streaming bamboo decoration throughout. Thick, striated and rough hewn bamboo stalks. Alongside streaming razor tipped bamboo leaves.  Fine hand chased finish detail set against fine, soft hand hammered background. The thousands of hand applied soft hammer marks capture the natural light brilliantly.
