When the National Wild Turkey Federation was founded in 1973, there were about 1.3 million wild turkeys in North America. After decades of dedicated work, that number hit an historic high of almost 7 million turkeys. The foundation of their success? Standing behind science-based conservation and hunters’ rights.
Since 1976 the Federation has issued annual stamps based on the artwork of many of America's most noted wild life artists. Each year artists submit their best art for selection for the Federation's annual limited edition print. The winning best artist has his print published in a limited edition and a corresponding stamp is issued.
This auction is for the official National Wild Turkey Federation
stamp album with forward by Thomas F. Rodgers, Executive Vice President, vinyl pocketed page containing 17 Wild Turkey stamp issues dating from the very first issue in 1976 to 1992, total of 17 stamps, plus, two inserts that were included in the envelope describing the issue included. All stamps are mint condition, never hinged,
as pictured.
The album and the inserts are rarer than some of the stamps inside it!!
