    Description

1872 Seated Liberty dollar, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as Extremely Fine XF-40.  This silver dollar, pre-Morgan, from one of the two high-mintage final years of issue, is remarkable because of its little wear and almost invisible bag marks across its large and empty fields for this design; it is a truly beautiful example of American mid-history.  There is bronze-to-red toning around the stars, between letters and numbers, and around the outline of Liberty and the eagle.  This Seated Liberty is unique also because of its minor circulated condition; most 1872 dollars were transferred overseas across the Pacific in trade, but they did not circulate much in the U.S. as far as Treasury researchers could ascertain, until the price of silver evened out and these could be released by banks for circulation.  The Real Deal 1872 Seated Liberty dollar is offered for you here!
