Description

Bright silvery surfaces have started to retone from a past cleaning with pink and peach highlights in isolated areas. Heavy hairlining is noted on both sides, and there is also evidence that the right obverse field has been smoothed or otherwise repaired.
Additionally, this coin has been holed and plugged at 12 o'clock at the obverse border, the associated repair work having been fairly well executed. On the positive side, the overall definition is quite bold, and all Carson City Mint Liberty Seated dollars are highly desirable and eminently collectible. The original mintage of 11,758 pieces leaves few for collectors today, especially in higher grades like this well detailed coin offers.
