  • Condition: RARE Civil War Date Graded and Certified back in the 1990's by ANACS PF62, Proof 62, before NGC or PCGS were even getting their feet wet. There wasn't much choice where you could send coins to be graded and certified back in the 80's, like there is today. Very Conservatively Graded in old White Holder!! The saying of the day always strikes true, "you always buy the coin, not the holder." And this is very true for this coin. It has absolutely gorgeous color, as you can easily see in the photos. The reverse has a peripheral rainbow natural tone, and it is only getting better with time. Gorgeous sharp coin, and much originality!! I believe with the grading standards of today would designate this coin in the Proof 63/64 range. Rare proof with Very Low mintage, and even lower survival rate. Looks much better in hand! I tried to capture the beauty and originality of this Proof coin, but the photos don't do it justice.
