    Description

1855 Liberty Seated Dollar NGC Certified AU53
This coin was submitted to PCGS for crossover. The coin was returned questionable color! Really! I don't know about you, but I have been disgusted by PCGS the last few years. When you look at all the problem Liberty Seated Dollars in all generations of PCGS Holders that are graded problem free, myself as well as several of my peers just don't know what to think of the PCGS of the present. We all feel the coin is original.
The amount of coins being given a pass at PCGS now that a few years ago would not just astounds me. I feel PCGS is riding on the coat tails of their past reputation. They just won't hire the type of graders(pay what it takes to get the top graders) required to maintain consistency or make a knowledgeable decision on a coin like this....or another view could be "go one take the money and run" because they feel it will be submitted again. Well it won't be by me! I haven't been submitting to PCGS for several years now because of what I have been seeing. Needless to say unless things change I will not be submitting going forward unless I see a change.
I came up with an acronym for PCGS 20 years ago at the Philadelphia Pre-ANA show when they ticked me off that seems to hold even more true today. PCGS is Preferred Customer Grading Service!
Perhaps they will get their comeupins if the new grading service CAC is starting is successful.  While I am not a fan of the sticker I fully support their venture into becoming a full fledged grading service. PCGS can just continue on grading all the moderns that most graders moan while doing so!
Please be sure and check out my store as I will be adding coins regularly! Coins are subject to being sold off ebay as I attend coin shows most weekends. I do my best to check before I sell but I do not have internet at some shows I attend. I do update nightly when at shows if I do not have internet during the day.
